Not very powerful but used together these clamps get the job done. Work well for gluing acoustic guitar kerfing in any case. Finish/quality is ok--could do a little better on coating the tips. Overall seems a good value for a small shop.great valueThink of these as "metal cloths pins"---because ordinary clothspins are actually a little more versatile, cheaper, better quality, and effectively clamp materials in the same range of thickness.COMPARED TO CLOTHSPINS> Clothspins have a flat 3/8" x 3/8" surface, and do a good job of clamping soft flat materials, such as paper, fabrics, etc---such for gluing---up to about 1/8" thick total.--These metal clamps have no flat surface, and so are not effective in clamping soft materials--Wide-mouth plastic clamps such as These clamps fit the bill. They are just the right size, easy to open and hold my items firmly in place. For the price, you can't beat it. One piece of feedback is that they are sold in packs of 8, and since this listing is for 20 clamps, 4 of them are not in packaging and are free. This is not only a bit odd, but one of them is a bit damaged (probably due to the shipping without being in a pack). It isn't a deal breaker, since I didn't need all 20, but I think a better solution would be to sell the clamps in multiples of 8. As others have stated, it would also be helpful to have a picture of the clamps next to a ruler so the buyer can understand if the 2 inches is the size of the opening or the length of the clamp (it's the latter). My husband just started his MBA and was looking for something to keep his project boards neatly lined up as he was presenting his material to his class. These clamps were, and continue to be, perfect for this task. However, since they come 20 per pack, we had a bunch of left-over clamps to find a use for.Luckily, they actually multitask in more ways than you’d think. They’re great for holding smaller objects like poster boards, wood sticks, or various crafting projects in place when they’ve been glued together as they open a little less than an inch wide. They’re also good for hanging delicate articles of clothing to dry because their grips don’t leave rust marks or tear through the fabric. I even use a couple of them for clipping snack and coffee bags around the kitchen. It’s an awesome purchase at its price point because of all the different uses you can get out of them. These little clips are really inexpensive, and are somewhat cheaply made. the red coating barely stays on and is super thin - a lot of them were already ripped through just from the pressure of the spring. That being said - I didn't have super high expectations for something like this, especially given the price. These are similar in size to the ones you can buy at your local big-box hardware store for a buck a piece, but definitely thinner, with a really thin rubber coating. I would say the spring strength is right up there with those.I use them with a piece of wire to hang little odds and ends when i'm painting them. Works perfect.Don't listen to the reviewers trying to one-up each other about how weak these are. "It can't even hold air molecules together! Fly wings & double stick tape! Derp!" While they won't pinch your finger to the point of causing pain, you would never want to clamp one on your nipple. It is true they are tiny but they were exactly what I needed. Docked 1 star for misleading name covered by other reviewers. I used them to clamp together delaminated carbon fiber plate that I am repairing with epoxy. Plenty of strength for their size. It's a WEAK chip-clip at best. The product images don't give you a very good idea of scale, but the description does accurately detail the size. So, I'm deducting one star-- not for size-- but for having such a weak spring/grip. I have plastic chip clips of the same size with stronger grip-- and they were free because they have my local insurance or real estate agent's ad stamped on the side! I have found that the best use of these little "clamps" is holding the twisted end of an opened tube of saltine crackers...but not much else.
